A Tale of Two Flocked Christmas Trees
Decorating ideas for a flocked Christmas tree can make your home feel like a magical winter wonderland. There’s something about the snowy look of a white tree that instantly brings the holiday season to life.
This year, my daughter and I were thrilled to partner with King of Christmas and each received our very own stunning flocked Christmas tree to decorate!
While our trees are similar, we gave each of them our own style spin…and today I’m sharing plenty of Christmas tree ideas, helpful tips, and inspiration for decorating your own flocked tree!
Why a Flocked Christmas Tree is Magical
If you’re wondering why a flocked tree might be the perfect choice for your living room or holiday space, here’s the scoop…
A frosted tree or snowy Christmas tree adds instant charm, even compared to traditional green trees. The white branches really make glossy baubles, metallic ornaments, and bright colors pop.
Flocked trees also come in prelit options, and the warm white lights look absolutely magical against the snowy branches.
We’re talking a gorgeous winter wonderland glow that fills the room with holiday cheer!

Benefits of a King of Christmas flocked tree:
I have had the joy of owning King of Christmas trees in the past. My first experience with a prelit tree was a KOC tree…game changer! Here is why I love these trees!
- Realistic snowy look without the mess of a real tree. I had a little flocking fall to the floor when I unpacked the tree. But once the tree was up, I pulled on the branches and nothing came off!
- Full, sturdy branches that hold ornaments of different sizes and textures.
- Variety of styles, from slim trees for smaller living spaces to tall 9’ trees for a grand white Christmas feel.
- Long-lasting synthetic material that gives you the magic of Christmas year after year.

My Tree: Snow & Sapphire
My 9’ King Noble Flock Artificial Christmas Tree comes with 700 warm white LED lights, making it the perfect tree to create a winter wonderland in my bedroom.
I love how airy the branches are and that I can see green branches underneath the white flocking.
So realistic!

If you know me, you know that I LOVE a blue and white combination. But I’ve never decorated a tree in this color scheme…
Chinoiserie is also one of my great loves. So this seemed the perfect opportunity to use my two loves in my new bedroom tree.
The name of my tree?
Snow and Sapphire!

Decorating a flocked Christmas tree
Since this tree is prelit (and assembled in minutes!), I could jump right into hanging ornaments!
Spindle-shaped ornaments in shades of blue hang dramatically from the snowy branches. They are a stunning contrast in shape to round ornaments.
White ornaments and clear iridescent ornaments are my secret weapon!
They add such a magical touch, reflecting the lights and giving the look of the tree a sparkling effect.
With so many solid colors ornaments, I mixed in some DIY decoupage ornaments and blue velvet picks for pattern, texture, and visual interest.

King of Christmas has beautiful tree ornaments available in different color stories. I was thrilled to receive their glass ornaments in clear and shades of blue!

I wrapped the base in white faux fur rugs instead of a traditional tree skirt to add a soft, snowy feel.
And I used Chinoiserie pots at the base to anchor the tree while keeping space for presents.
To finish the look, I added a simple tree topper by gathering several of the blue velvet picks together.
Glass and metallic ornaments in various shades of blue tucked into branches give depth to the tree. The overall effect is bright, festive, and full of charm, with a touch of glamour without feeling overdone.

Helpful tips for decorating your own flocked tree like Snow & Sapphire:
- Step back frequently to see the look of the tree from all angles.
- Stick with 2–3 main colors for a cohesive look.
- Mix different sizes of ornaments (large, medium, and smaller ornaments) for visual interest.
- Use pretty ribbon or white ribbon sparingly so the snowy branches shine through.

My Daughter’s Tree: Woodland Whimsy
My daughter’s King of Christmas 6.5’ King Flock® Slim Artificial Christmas Tree is her holiday creation we call Woodland Whimsy!
Lucky girl has little doggie elves to help her!

She added exuberant draping greenery to give her tree hits of layered green against the white branches.
She then mixed in green velvet poinsettias, giant green ornaments (shaped like real emeralds!), and salmon colored flowers.
Like mother, like daughter…we both love decoupage and had a fun afternoon session creating ornaments for our trees. She chose an amazing coral pattern for her DIY decoupage ornaments.
(Shhh…I might have swiped a few of her patterned project napkins for my own decoupage project later on!)

She wrapped the base with a woven tree collar, which adds a classic look and keeps her smaller tree feeling polished.
Adorable brass woodland animals with quirky glasses are tucked into the tree throughout for charming personality. Such a fun surprise amidst the branches!

The warm white lights on her tree highlight the greenery and ornaments beautifully, giving it a magical touch and modern look at the same time.
See how the flocked branches peek out among the woodland-inspired decorations? Such a unique twist on decorating a flocked tree…I love it!
An adorable dog is an added bonus to the experience!

Tips you can borrow from Woodland Whimsy:
- Combine natural elements with metallics or shiny baubles for visual interest.
- Don’t be afraid to mix different sizes of ornaments and non-traditional color schemes…a little contrast makes a tree stand out.
- Use whimsical accents like woodland animals, pine cones, or fun Christmas decorations for unique style.

More Flocked Tree Inspiration
Last year, I decorated a King of Christmas 9′ King Noble Flocked Tree with cheerful bows and colorful ornaments. Look how the colors pop against the white tree!
If you’re looking for different ways to style a stunning flocked Christmas tree, here are a few holiday favorites we love:
- Velvet Bow Tree: Pair velvet ribbons with Christmas ornaments for a traditional feel. Wrapping the center with lights makes it glow from the inside.
- Simply Lit Tree: A smaller flocked tree in a garden pot, decorated with just lights. Perfect for a modern look or smaller living spaces.
- Classic Elegance Tree: Use white ornaments, silver ornaments, crystal ornaments, and warm metallics. Add a beautiful tree skirt or tree collar for the finishing touch.

General tips for decorating any flocked tree:
- Fluff the branches before hanging ornaments. It’s the first step to making your tree look full.
- Any ornaments you use on traditional green trees can be used on a flocked tree. The difference is a white background instead of green. Tweak your color scheme for a cohesive look with the brighter tree color.
- Add natural elements like pine cones or greenery for a tree that looks like you just brought it in from the woods!
- Don’t forget a tree topper for the top of your tree and a beautiful tree skirt or tree collar to complete the classic look.

Decorating Together is the Best Part
One of the best ways to enjoy a snowy Christmas tree is to decorate it with someone you love.
My daughter and I laughed, compared our own trees, and shared different ways to add a unique and magical touch. We had the best time!
Whether you go for a classic look, a modern look, or a unique style, a perfect flocked tree gives you a blank canvas to let your creativity shine. Be sure to share it with someone special!

Two Trees, Twice the Magic
This year, our King of Christmas flocked trees have completely stolen the show!
From the moment we fluffed the branches, I was amazed by how full and realistic they looked…even before a single ornament went up. There’s just something about those snowy branches and twinkling lights that feels straight out of a winter wonderland.
What’s so fun is how differently my daughter and I styled them. Mine leans bright and classic with pops of blue, while hers brings a playful woodland charm.
Two trees, two styles — and both absolutely beautiful. That’s the magic of a King of Christmas tree… it lets your creativity shine! *photos by King of Christmas
A big thank you to King of Christmas for making this mother-daughter decorating experience so special — it’s a memory we’ll treasure every holiday season!

Cheers!

Oh Missy, I’m loving these flocked trees and all the fabulous decorations. So much personality in yours and your daughter’s tree! You two make a great team!!
I love your tree Missy. The sapphire theme is gorgeous. Your daughter’s tree is so much fun as well and it turned out amazing. It has me in the mood for Christmas but I have to get through Halloween & Thanksgiving first. lol. Haven a great day. XO- MaryJo
Missy, youve got the flocked tree love down to an art form! My tree is currently looking rather like a sad, white cloud having a picnic with my ornaments. Your daughters Woodland Whimsy is peak creativity – my own tree sports a rather alarming number of ornaments that look suspiciously like theyve been picked up from the garden path. The idea of fluffing branches sounds almost meditative… until you realize youve spent 20 minutes just on one and it still looks like a deflated soufflé. Keep up the fantastic cheer, though – even if my tree resembles a rejected science experiment in festive colours!quay random
