A bit about me…My name is Melissa but most people call me Missy. I believe that our homes are our creative environment, a haven where we find comfort, create memories, and experience life. Home is a means of personal expression…an expression of self in which we live and share with others…Artful Living at Home.
Sonata Home Design, based in Lincoln, Nebraska, offers home staging and home styling services designed to create Artful Living at Home. Whether staging your home to appeal to the most buyers or styling your home to reflect your personality, I will work with you to create an environment of warmth, style, creativity, and emotional connections.
Originally a brick and mortar store, Sonata Décor and Gifts opened in Lincoln’s historic University Place neighborhood. During that time, I was asked to help accessorize and style the “Extreme Home Makeover” home and was a Nebraska Retailer of the Year nominee in the years 2007 and 2011.
A physical move to Village Gardens brought the opportunity for expanded retail space as well as services offered. A thrilling moment for Sonata was being selected as a 2010 Retail Star for Creative Excellence by Home Accents Today magazine.
With a 2020 re-boot to a virtual home, Sonata Home Design has moved from retail sales to home staging (occupied) and home styling consultation and services. I am excited to offer these new services and, to that end, I recently earned my certification as a home stager and re-designer through HSR (Home Staging Resources).
I am also a big advocate of saving our trees. To that end, 10% of all profits will be donated to the Arbor Day Foundation to help plant trees locally, regionally, and worldwide. The foundation actively plants trees in an effort to offset carbon emissions, replant forests, clean our air, and conserve our soil, energy, and water. All this from the pure beauty of a tree! So, as Sonata Home Design helps to beautify your home, you will be helping to beautify the world!
Whether staging for sale or styling for life, call me today and let’s get started putting the “Artful” in your living at home.
